Real things that collectively Shape the Nature of Reality

Colloquial
Understanding

Existence: the state or fact of existing or everything that exists anywhere -- a process.

Form: the visual appearance of something or someone, the shape or organization, or arrangement of elements -- the design or structure. Form
limits Existence while defining
a things perfection.

Emergence: the act of coming out, becoming apparent, emersion or growth.

Substance: can mean that which has mass and occupies space or the stuff of which an object consists, the meaning, the core, the content.

Attributes: a characteristic of a thing or a distinguishing construct or deciding factor as to where something belongs.

Essence: widely understood to be what a thing is. It may include substance and attributes with existence and refer to objects of knowledge, operations, relations, etc.

Nature: the essential qualities or characteristics by which something is recognized, a particular thing of the natural physical world.

ESSENCE

Metaphysical Understanding

Existence: or "act of existence" the principle by which ultimately a thing is or exists. It is a conjugal essential property of being.

Form: properly "substantial form" , the determining and specifying principle of substance or essence, a conjugal essential property of being.

Emergence: a phenomena, that which is the act of a principle.

Substance: that principle of being whose nature it is to be in itself.

Attributes: that principle of being whose nature it is to be in another.

Essence: in the strict sense is substance considered as being of a certain kind or species and being capable of receiving an act of existence.

Nature: is substance or broadly essence in relation to activities.

UBIQUTIOUS--------------------------------------------------------TRANSCENDENTAL
(Present everywhere ..................................................................spans Material & Immaterial Reality)

Shape of Nature emerges from the Roots of Reality thru Substance to be
manifested as Entities, Beings or Things.
Humans understand these roots as Existence & Form.

Reality Roots are experienced in various ways:

Both Existence & Form are NOT known through the senses. Neither can be seen, heard, smelt, felt or touched. Roots are immaterial and are known through experience.

As Principle --
a primary source--origin--a fundamental law, doctrine or assumption.
As Thing --
from essential properties through Substance comes an Entity as a unique specified kind--
a separate distinct individual with attributes that determine its modified nature.

As Function --
action for which a thing is specifically specified and acts accordingly.
As Relation --
a state (attribute) of connection or holding affinity & ordered as to conjugate pairs.

EXISTENCE
"DYNAMIC" Root of Reality
Individual identity of all things is determined through Existence.....
a constant, either "is" or "is not", known a priori intuitively (see Knowledge).....
Existence is an immaterial function expressing action in some manner.

AS a PRINCIPLE: a principle is that which something else follows. Existence is a principle of "being" ,
a root of reality from which or through which some thing comes to be or "is". Existence, however, is a unique principle in as much as its functionality exists as a conjugate (joined-acting in a pair) principle with Form. From the principle of existence things come into being as action, thus as a property of an Entity it is named "Act of Existence".

AS a THING: Existence is often considered as a thing. However, considering existence in this manner confuses the real nature of existence, for a thing by definition is that which comes from conjugate pairs to become a unique entity through the principle of substance. Since existence, in its act as a principle, is not
a thing in the proper sense of its nature, but rather conveys action, a dynamic and is best understood in
its functionality.

AS a FUNCTION: a direct, proper, most accurate and more general accepted manner to experience and understand the concept of existence, finds bases in everyday use of the word as applied to action. In the material world everyone readily understands existence when applied to a thing, i.e. a person, an atom, a star, etc. Existence is clearly understood when things are considered to be real not imaginary and possess action. It is not so clearly understood if we speak about the functioning or existence of immaterial things. Consideration of immaterial things are accomplished through reason of speculative knowledge (see Perfection link above). Thus it is not proper to declare momentum, a dynamic, etc. to things that are not of matter (particles). At best we express existence for immaterial things as having predication.

AS a RELATION: in everyday colloquial expression of existence, humans declare existence with the use of a variety of terms, such as with the term life, "living" or real things present in reality, i.e. composite things made of atoms, as are humans or stars in the sky, galaxies. All these things and many more are implicitly understood to possess existence. Things of energy have existence and exit in what we call the "Universe". The Universe on the other hand has its own existence, Time, (in Time & Space entities are manifested that exhibit momentum in SpaceTime). Many humans think of the Universe as a container holding energy, however, there is much, much more to understanding the entities of SpaceTime. The consideration of existence for the Universe is expressed as "Time", thus we say that the Universe comes from the principles of TimeSpace", having its Existence in Time and its Form in what we call "Space". (Note: see "Universe" page -- see "Relativity" page both in Science section)

EXISTENCE

The illustration below provides an analogy of existence through change where in two lines (coming together) take on a different existence. Fig. 1 represents two entities (2 lines). When an end of each line comes together, Fig. 2, change occurs thus each line loses its identity (existence) as a line, a thing. and now constitutes the existence of a different structure which we call an angle. Existence is inherent in change, the line entities become a different being, of which occurs a changed name, an angle. (see Change)

  1. Existence is a constant -- in the sense that it either exists or does not exist. An Angle's existence before coming together-- has no Existence, comes into Being when lines touch, has existence as an identity commences.
  2. Existence is a principle -- The entity, an angle, depends upon its existence.
  3. Existence is a dynamic -- Two lines come together as such and the entity demonstrates it has existence. It is not by the dynamic of the coming together, but rather that the being, an angle has the dynamics of existence.
  4. Existence is a root of reality -- Real things are what we experience as Reality in the Universe. From roots all things emerge thru Substance to posses the property of Existence, ultimately to posses Essence.
Example
Fig. 3 & Fig. 4
FORM

Fig. 3 illustrates the structure or form when two lines come together to make an angle of a measured degree. Thus the two lines joined constitute the structure of the angle made by the two lines and therefore, the being is now properly called an angle. The specified number of degrees manifests the attribute of relation. Fig. 4 express an angle of a different degree. The identity as an angle (its Form)has not changed, however, the structure (pattern, the relational attribute) is different.

  1. Form is a constant -- in the sense that there is only one Form in a multiplicity of iterations. Angles may exists of different degrees, different attributes. However, it is not that the Entity has a different structure, form, but rather that the substance has a different relational attribute. The identity of existence and form remain constant, their form in attribute substance may have many iterations according to their measured degrees.
  2. Form is a principle -- a property carried by Substance, also a principle and property bearer which provides a specified structure to a manifested entity. Thus, an entity is determined, according to its structure (Form), to possess a level of perfection.
  3. Form is a structure -- The angle of inclination of the two lines determines the structure of the being, angle.
  4. Form is a root of reality -- Existing Real things with structure or form is what we experience in the Universe of SpaceTime. Form, with its conjugate pair, are the roots of all things that emerge, by which determines the specific structure. Thus, Form, with its conjugate partner Existence, through Substance and the Attributes of Form level of perfection manifests the Essence of the thing of which it is its root.
FORM
"FORM" Root of Reality
Structure (arrange in definite pattern) determines level of perfection of real existing Entities......
a constant that is a variable, in the sense that the expression of Form may be of different according to attributes or sets of attributes which predicate the structure of an Entity.

Thus Form differentiates the perfection
(see Perfection) of an existence according to each
Entity. Form defines the structure of entities, coming forth as a property, bourne by the principle of Substance, and according to the modifications (accidents) it may possess.....

AS a PRINCIPLE: a principle is that which something follows.Form is a principle of "being" , a root of reality from which or through which something obtains Form or Structure. Form, however, is a unique principle in as much as its functionality exists as a conjugate (joined-acting in pairs) principle that informs or structures Existence. From the principle of Form things come into being with a degree of perfection according to the form of its attributes.

AS a THING: Form is often considered as a thing. However, considering Form in this manner confuses the real nature of essence, for a thing by definition is that which comes from conjugate pair that emerges as the principle of substance to become an Entity. Since Form, in its existence as a principle, is not a thing in the proper sense of its nature, but rather provides structure or form as a property to an Entity. It is best understood in its functionality.

AS a FUNCTION: a direct, proper, most accurate, more general accepted manner to experience and understand the concept of form finds bases in the everyday use of the word as applied to structure. In the material world everyone readily understands structure when applied to a thing, i.e. a human body, a horse or a dog, a house (having rooms or floors or basement) etc. Form is clearly understood when things are considered real not imaginary and to possess structure. When attempting to understanding energy, space, or structures of these kinds, it is not so readily comprehensive, nor is the the functionality of immaterial (Spiritual) things. Consideration of immaterial things are accomplished through reason of speculative knowledge (see Perfection link above). Thus it is not proper to declare physical, chemical or biological structure, etc. to things that are not of energy. At best we express form of immaterial Entities often as having spiritual form.

AS a RELATION: in everyday colloquial expression of structure, humans declare Form with the use of a variety of terms. However, in their terms, without their realization, implicitly is implied limitation to the existence that is being informed in the conjugal function. Thus manifested substance, the entity, or thing has limited existence according to its applied form, i.e. physical systems, an automobile according to the motor, body style, seat capacity etc., or chemical systems, water Hydrogen and Oxygen, or biological things, animals (fish, birds. human) etc. All these things and many more implicitly are understood to possess existence. Things of energy have existence and exist in what we call the "Universe". The Universe on the other hand has its own existence, TimeSpace (things in the Universe are manifested in SpaceTime). Many think of the Universe as a container holding all of energy, however, there is much, much more to understanding SpaceTime. The consideration of Essence of the Universe is the Energy of the Universe while Form, as applied to the Universe is expressed as "Space", thus we say that the Universe comes from the principles of "TimeSpace". which in turn has an existence, "Time".
