Life
Life is a characteristic that distinguishes objects, things, having self-sustaining processes from other material things.
Life is a carbon based composite of molecules, composed of atoms of fermion particles which make up cells that collectively form a system.
Any contiguous living system is called an organism.

All Organisms are changed through emergence (a quasi-force--bioty)
that brings about the process of biotation.
Biotation fulfills three (3) functions:
1. Metabolism -- a process where by forms of energy are converted
to other forms of energy.
2. Growth -- a capacity to change from a simpler state
to a more complex state gradually over time.
3. Reproduce -- a capacity to replicate like organisms sexually.

Organisms respond to stimuli, reproduce through natural selection by adapting to their environment (homeostasis)in successive generations.
Presently, Organisms are only known to exist on Planet Earth.

Organism manifest in what is known as " Hierarchy of Life", complexity.

The Hierarchy of Life

Cell
Often called the building block of life, the cell is the basic structural and functional unit of all known living organisms.
Organisms are classified as unicellular (a single cell; including most bacteria) or multi cellular (includes plants & animals). Humans contain about 10 trillion (1013) cells--Virus organisms build on RNA and use cells to reproduce. Most plant and animal cells are so small they are only visible under the microscope.
